Out of Equilibrium

چکیده
This review article takes the volume by Mario Amendola and Jean-Luc Gaffard Out of Equilibrium as the starting point of a general assessment of the scope and perspectives of out-of-equilibrium economics. After describing the particular subject-matter covered by Amendola and Gaffard, the author calls attention upon he fundamental role in their treatment of time, coordination, and the magnitude of responses. The general foundations of the ‘out-of-equilibrium’ approach are then considered. In this connection, the author argues that making use of illustrations (rather than formal proofs) can still show in a conclusive way that widely held beliefs are not valid as general propositions. It is also maintained that, apart from these ‘anti-general’ results, the out-of-equilibrium approach can lead to positive generalizations of considerable power and significance. In conclusion, this essay maintains that coexistence of equilibrium and out-of-equilibrium analysis is possible, and mentions research and policy areas (such as coordination failures and rational regulatory policy) in which equilibrium theory can provide invaluable insights for an out-of-equilibrium investigation © 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. The goals of the article are a definition of patterns of change in demand and supply of milk and dairy in the market of Ukraine and revealing the regularities of establishing of partial equilibrium state. The scientific methods which used in the process of the research: simulation was used for defining trends of supply and demand changing and their balancing in the dairy market; economic and st...
متن کاملIntroduction of a Novel Two-Dimensional Equation of State to Predict Gas Equilibrium Adsorption in Highly-Nonideal Systems
Abstract The accurate calculations of adsorption equilibrium for multicomponent gas systems are of great importance in many applications. In this paper, five two-dimensional equations of state 2D-EOS, i.e. Van der Waals, Eyring, Zhou-Ghasem-Robinson, Soave-Redlich-Kwong and Peng-Robinson, were examined to find out their abilities to predict adsorption equilibrium for pure and multi-component ga...
متن کاملThe analysis of a disease-free equilibrium of Hepatitis B model
In this paper we study the dynamics of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection under administration of a vaccine and treatment, where the disease is transmitted directly from the parents to the offspring and also through contact with infective individuals. Stability of the disease-free steady state is investigated. The basic reproductive rate, $R_0$, is derived. The results show that the dynamics of...
متن کاملSTUDY OF CYCLOREVERSION OF NTTRONE-CY CLODIMERS
A series of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions are carried out using cyclodimers of simple nitrones and various dipolarophiles; substituted isoxazolidines are isolated and identified. It is proved that such cyclodimers, in solution, are in equilibrium with their corresponding nitrones and enamines. It is also concluded that aldocyclodimers are more potent than keto-cyclodimers in establish...
متن کاملKinetic Study and Equilibrium Isotherm Analysis of Nickel (II) Adsorption onto Alginate-SBA-15 Nanocomposite
The present work was undertaken to evaluate the feasibility of nickel (II) removal from aqueous solution by adsorption onto a biopolymer adsorbent. The adsorbent was prepared using modification of mesoporous silicate SBA-15 with alginate biopolymer (alginateSBA-15) by encapsulation method. Morphological structure of the obtained nanocomposite adsorbent was characterized by XRD, scanning electro...
متن کاملInvestigation of the Hydrate Formation Equilibrium Conditions of Natural Gas
One of the main problems in oil recovery via the gas injection is the formation of hydrates in thelines. In order to prevent the formation of hydrate in these lines, which leads to the blockage andsometimes explosion, at first, the equilibrium formation conditions must be determined and then toprevent its formation by changing the thermodynamic conditions or by adding the inhibitors. In thisres...
